Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about StreamForge.

Is StreamForge free?

Yes. StreamForge has a free tier plus paid tiers. Feature limits vary by plan and can change over time, so check the latest details on our pricing page.

What Twitch data do you access?

StreamForge only accesses the data necessary to track channel activity — subscriptions, gift subs, cheers, raids, chat activity, and watch-time related engagement metrics. We do not access your Twitch password, and we only process the data needed to operate StreamForge features.

How are points calculated?

Points are awarded in real time based on your configured point rules. Each action type (chat, watch time, subscriptions, gift subs, bits, redemptions, raids, tips) has a configurable point value. Disabled rules contribute zero points while activity can still be tracked. See the Points System docs for details.

What is the difference between Watch Time and Offline Watch Time?

Watch Time tracks minutes spent in your chat while you are live. Offline Watch Time tracks minutes when you are not streaming. These are two independent stats with separate columns on the leaderboard. Both can earn points using the same watch time point rule, but they are never combined into a single number.

Do disabled point rules hide stats from the leaderboard?

No. Disabling a point rule only sets its point contribution to zero — the underlying activity (messages, bits, watch time, etc.) is still recorded and shown on the leaderboard. Only the Total Points column is affected.

Can I customize overlays?

Yes. Overlays support several URL parameters for customization including theme, font size, and accent color. Overlays use transparent backgrounds by default so they blend with any stream scene. See the Overlays docs for all available options.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing in your dashboard. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. After cancellation, your workspace downgrades to the free tier.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. StreamForge uses industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables to ensure tenant isolation, encrypted OAuth tokens, and webhook signature verification. We never store your Twitch password.

Can I invite my moderators?

Yes! StreamForge supports team management with role-based access. You can invite moderators and admins to help manage your community. See the Team Management docs for more information.

Does StreamForge work with Discord?

Yes. On Starter and Pro plans, you can connect your Discord server to StreamForge for role syncing, notifications, and event updates. Discord integration is configured from Settings → Integrations in your dashboard.

Can I import data from StreamElements?

Yes! On Starter and Pro plans, you can connect your StreamElements account to import historical tip and donation data. Go to Settings → Integrations to connect with your StreamElements JWT token.

Can I import data from a CSV file?

Yes. StreamForge supports CSV data import for watch time, subs, gifts, bits, and other metrics. Use the in-app import flow to upload CSV rows and backfill historical engagement activity.

What are community recaps?

Community recaps are AI-generated narrative summaries that celebrate your community's growth and milestones. Yearly recaps are available on all plans; monthly recaps are available on Starter and Pro plans.

Can viewers see the leaderboard publicly?

Yes. Streamers can enable a public leaderboard accessible via a vanity URL. Viewers can see rankings, points, metric breakdowns, and achievement badges without signing in. Configure visibility from Leaderboard and related settings.

How do notifications work?

StreamForge sends you in-app notifications for important events like VIP awards, achievement milestones, event updates, and system announcements. You can customize which notifications you receive in Settings → Notifications. Each notification type can be toggled independently.

What is the status page?

Our public status page at /status shows the real-time operational status of all StreamForge services. During incidents, you'll also see a banner in your dashboard. You can check the status page anytime at streamforge.bifrostlive.com/status.

How do I request my data?

You can request a copy of personal data associated with your account by submitting a support ticket with the “Data Access Request” category. We aim to prepare exports quickly and respond within applicable legal timelines. You receive a secure download link and a separate password email. Downloads expire after 7 days and are limited to 5 downloads. For questions, contact privacy@streamforge.bifrostlive.com.
